Podcast | Histoires d'objets
Description
Some pieces from the Museum’s collection hang on the walls or are displayed in glass cases, while the rest sit quietly in the basement or behind locked doors waiting patiently for their moment in the spotlight.
Have you ever dreamed of exploring the Museum’s inventory, rummaging through the shelves and uncovering hidden treasures? If so, then Histoires d’objets, a podcast series that takes a behind-the-scenes look at our collection, is for you.
We gave carte blanche to journalist Caroline Stevan to produce a series of 10 episodes, each focusing on one of the 26,000 items in our collection. She chose some fascinating objects: a rifle bullet that struck the leg of an ICRC delegate during the Spanish Civil War, an old surgical kit, an everyday chain and padlock, and even the Nobel Prize medal awarded to Henry Dunant, the founder of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
The podcasts, which are in French, will be released starting in September 2023. And the items in question will emerge from the shadows, finding a place – somewhere unexpected – in our permanent exhibition. See if you can find them!
