Gardens
A living laboratory in constant evolution
The gardens of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum are a place to stay rather than a place to simply pass through. Conceived as an extension of the Museum, they are transformed with the seasons and projects, supported by academic and artistic partnerships. After an initial collaboration with EPFL, the gardens are now entering a new phase with HEPIA.
From 2025, landscape architecture students will start a three-year cycle to fully immerse themselves in the area: observation, field surveys, biodiversity studies, sketches and research will all contribute to their understanding of the place. The aim? To transform the site into a real garden, taking care of its users and the ecosystem. It's a large-scale project, nurtured by a young and curious vision, a blend of daydreaming and observation of living things. You can see the first sketches of their suggestions on this page.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum asks a central question: how does humanitarian action affect us all, here and now?
