Totem Animal
Touring Exhibition

From March 8th to 21st

Thanks to the initiative of the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity of the City of Geneva, a project was born as the result of collaboration between neighbouring actors: the Youth Service, the Social Service, the Païdos Association, the Sismondi College and the Ariana Museum.

The theme of the “Animal Totem” was chosen to symbolize the diversity of the young people’s countries of origin.

Whether they were schoolchildren or young migrants recently arrived in Geneva, they worked in groups to shape the different pieces. During the work sessions (iconographic researches, clay workshop, painting workshop or text writing), the young people were able to meet and share their ideas in order to design a common project.

In the end, around twenty pieces inspired by the animal figure – imagined or real – give birth to an installation organised in a cylinder.
